Non-Candy Easter Basket Ideas

Hi friends, time is just speeding along and I don’t know how it happened but Easter is almost here already! The kiddos had their Spring Break earlier at the end of March, so I think that is what threw me off. I totally thought we had another week, but nope, Easter is coming in hot in less than a week! (Does anyone else feel like it kind of snuck up on us this year??) So for those of us who are a little behind, or if you’re stumped on what to put in your Easter baskets, I’ve made a list of fun and creative non-candy Easter basket ideas that your kids will be delighted to find!

I’m assuming most of you will be including candy in your kids’ Easter baskets, but since they get so much candy all year round, it would be nice to not over-do it with the sweet treats and round it out with some fun gifts that can be enjoyed well past Easter.

I was also inspired by another blogger who said that she puts a new swimsuit and flip flops in her kids’ baskets every year and I thought that was such a great idea! Are there things that your kids actually need that would be fun to include? Something that you would have to buy anyway, but it could be cool in their Easter basket? Maybe it’s a swimsuit, flip flops, sunglasses, a hat, goggles for swim class, a new toothbrush, pajamas, sports accessories, etc? Some of these items might cost a little more than you would normally spend on a basket stuffer, but if you’re going to be buying it anyway…..why not throw it in?

Non-Candy Easter Basket Ideas

Ok, so here is an extensive list of ideas from babies to teens…not sure if there is an age at which kids don’t get Easter baskets anymore?? My guess its that I will still be filling Easter baskets for my boys until they move out of the house (and even then maybe a few years after ???? ) so I’ll just keep adding to the list as we go. 😉

Here they are broken down by age:

A minimal baby basket is fine, because let’s face it, we’re mostly doing it for us. Babies don’t have any idea what’s going on for most holidays so they will appreciate whatever you put in it. (Or, they may have no clue that you even gave them a basket). But it’s fine because you love them and it’s fun. Just no need to stress/go crazy.

  1. I love the flip flop idea… If positioned properly, they could even look like bunny ears sticking out of the Easter basket! So adorable!
