Halloween Decorations

Eek! We just put up our Halloween decorations and I am so happy! I love decorating for the holidays and Halloween is one of my favorites. I always love seeing how other people decorate for the holidays because it gives me ideas for how to decorate my own house. So, I thought it would be fun to share pictures of our Halloween decor with you to give you some inspiration as well.

Halloween Decorations – Living Room

Most of my Halloween decorations is a collection of things I’ve purchased over the years from Michael’s, Target, Marshalls, Walmart and Dollar Tree. The pillow covers, however, are new this year and I am loving them!

Halloween Decorations – Dining Room

This is how I typically decorate the living room for Halloween with some minor changes from year to year. We have a lot of fun items like the skull, rats, cobwebs and we have these little rubber bats that we hang from the chandelier.

How cute are these placemats? They are new this year from Target and I think they add just the right touch of whimsy. I’ve had these black candle holders for years and I added some white battery operated candles on top to give it that haunted house vibe. The metallic decorative pumpkins have been around a while too, but you can find similar ones here and here. I also like to mix in real miniature pumpkins which I then keep and incorporate them into November’s Thanksgiving decor.

Halloween Decorations – Kitchen

The kids love these fun candy bowls! I try to put healthier snacks in the big bowl so they can enjoy Halloween treats without the sugar overload. (Check out these links for some fun options: Spooky Shapes fruit snacks, Monster veggie chips, and these Bats and Jacks pretzels.) The candy corn, of course, is just pure sugar, but my kids really like them and it adds to the cuteness so I couldn’t resist. 😉

Here’s the little vignette that’s on display in the kitchen window. A cool skeleton signpost and his creepy companion with another grouping of real and faux pumpkins. The tray is there year round, but I change out what goes on it from season to season.

What do you think? Has this gotten you in the Halloween spirit? I hope you have as much fun decorating as I did this year! Happy Haunting!
