Hi mamas! Are you getting back into the swing of things and all the fall feels now that the kids are back in school? We have finally gotten into a groove and I am especially getting excited for fall (and Pumpkin Spice Lattes!) now that the weather has started to cool down a bit.
I recently did a front door refresh that I wanted to share with you. It was a small little project but I just love the way it turned out! Here are the before and after pics:
While watering the plants in the front walkway the other day, I realized that the whole area had started to look a little sad. Our welcome mat had seen better days and the succulents in our hanging flower pots were either overgrown or dried out and dead. Not very inviting. But by changing out and updating just a few things, I was able to give our underwhelming front walkway a fresh new look. And the best part is that it was super easy to do! (And affordable!)

Everyday Wreath
I found this faux boxwood wreath on sale at TJ Maxx and I absolutely love it. I have been wanting one for a while to use as my go-to “everyday” wreath, but couldn’t find one in the price range I was looking for, so I was super excited to snag this one! It looks lush and full and makes for a nice pop of color against the red door. Of course, now that we are getting into fall and the holidays, I will soon be replacing it with holiday wreaths, but for now (and once the holidays are over), I’m loving this look.
I couldn’t find a link for this exact one, but here are some really great options.
Welcome Mat
Our welcome mat had definitely seen better days, so I wanted to replace it with something fresher. I’ve always loved black and white and I think this checkered one from Home Depot ties in nicely with the front door to give it that classic look. (In case this exact mat is sold out, here are some other great options.)
Hanging Plants
Instead of buying new hanging baskets (which I considered), I decided to save money by keeping the wire baskets but replacing the plants with new succulents. I am not a green thumb, so I figure succulents will be more forgiving and easier to take care of then annuals!
And that’s it! What do you think? I love how just a few simple swaps can give the entryway a fresh new look! Hopefully, this helps give you some ideas and inspiration for making some simple updates of your own!
Fall Things I’m Loving Right Now
Pumpkin spice lattes – #sorrynotsorry. Also, I recently discovered this coffee creamer which I am LOVING and am also not sorry about.
Fall-scented candles – my favorite candles are Scentsational brand candles, which you can usually find at great prices at TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods. They are made with a natural soy wax blend so they are clean burning and smell delicious!
You’ve Got Mail – I don’t know why, but I love watching this movie in September. I think it’s because the movie starts in the fall and there’s that whole reference to “bouquets of newly sharpened pencils”? I can seriously watch this movie over and over again every year because it just puts me in that fall mood.
Fall Decor – some really cute fall home decor finds from Amazon:

Happy Fall, y’all!
With love,
