Hey mamas, do you ever get in a style rut? Sometimes I’ll find myself aimlessly staring at my closet in the morning and cannot for the life of me figure out what to wear. It’s definitely a symptom of decision fatigue and social media overwhelm. That’s when it helps to stop scrolling through PInterest and go back to tried and true classics.
Here are six of my go-to fall outfit ideas that I can always fall back on (get it?) when I don’t know what to wear. They are easy, versatile outfit formulas using basic wardrobe items that you most likely already have in your closet. Save these ideas on your phone now, and tomorrow morning, when you are struggling to get dressed, pick one of these outfits and walk out the door looking fab. You’re welcome. ????

Chambray Shirt + Black Jeans
Chambray shirt (similar) / Jeans / Leopard flats (similar)
A chambray shirt is a classic for a reason. It’s casual, but put-together, it’s a neutral, so it goes with everything, and it looks especially great with a crisp pair of black jeans. Add boots or cute flats and you are good to go.
Utility Jacket + Tee + Jeans
Utility Jacket (similar) / Converse
This outfit formula is great because you can change out the shirt for multiple different looks. Try a striped top, black tee or graphic tee in place of basic white.
Striped top + Colored Cardigan + Jeans/leggings
A striped shirt adds visual interest to an otherwise plain look. Top it off with a colored cardigan and pair with jeans or leggings. Try adding a leopard-print accessory (shoes, scarf, or earrings) for a fun mix of patterns!
Black leggings + Tunic Top + Boots
Tunic sweater (Similar, Similar) / Earrings (similar)
When the weather gets cooler, I tend to gravitate towards leggings, but sometimes finding a top to go with them can be tricky. Tunic style tops or sweaters are perfect because their flowy fit balances out the form-fitting leggings, and they are long enough to cover your bum!
Long sleeve shirt + Puffer vest
Vest (similar) / Boots (exact)
Nothing is cozier than a quilted vest and boots during colder weather! Switch up this look by adding a striped top underneath, a flannel, or a different combination of colors. And if it’s especially cold, add a beanie on top for extra cuteness!
Flannel shirt + Jeans or Leggings
Flannel (similar)
Flannels are great because they have built-in versatility. You can wear them buttoned up, open over a tee or tank, under a vest, or tied around your waist for an extra layer. Here’s a simple, casual look with jeans and sneakers.
Flannel (similar) / Ankle boots (similar)
And here’s another look with leggings and ankle boots. Wanna dress it down? Add a vest and chunkier boots.
