Omg, are you ready? Christmastime is already here!! And you know what that means: those little people who live on shelves will be making their grand entrance tomorrow and will be here for the next 25 days! In a row. It’s already giving me a little bit of anxiety.
It’s funny too, because I was blissfully unaware of the whole pageantry of it all and managed to avoid elf duty for a good 6 or 7 years until a dear friend of ours (love you, mama!) gave both kids a plastic Elf on the Shelf figurine that held candy:
And boom….that was enough for them! I am suddenly an elf-mom. Hilariously, we didn’t (and still don’t!) even own a genuine Elf on the Shelf, but they are now fully expecting that these plastic, non-posable elves would be performing all the fun and zany antics that they’d heard so much about from friends. And there you have it.
I’ll admit, I do like to get creative and have some fun surprising the boys with fun elf scenarios. But sometimes, (and I’m guessing you feel the same,) I just want move the elf somewhere and be done with it already so I can go to bed. So I usually save ideas to Pinterest and make myself a list on my phone so I don’t run out of ideas. And I would make sure to include some super easy ones for nights when I would be busy or out late so I wouldn’t have to expend too much time or energy.
And to save other moms out there a little bit of stress and anxiety, I want to share my list with you! I’ve compiled 35 Elf on the Shelf Ideas for Busy Moms so you will always have ideas at the ready. Most of these are simple ideas using things that you would typically find around the house. And with 35, you have options. Pick and choose the ones that work best for you. You can print this list out (but make sure to hide it!) or save it right on your phone to use as a handy reference. Yay! That’s one thing off your Christmas to-do list…
